NOTE

1. Banou [1996] 69 quotes Waterhouse and Simpson in Laconia II, 147, as having found sherds as far away as 500 m. to SE of the church: 'die über eine Fläche von 500 m sudöstlich der Kirche verstreut waren.' This would put sherds as far away as 36.483095, 22.945851 or the west slope of the facing hills to the S and SE. The exact language in Laconia II is: 'To south and east of the church, for about 500 metres, sherds are abundant.'. The site was rich in sherds and seems to have had considerable extent. My marker is a suggestion merely.
