The town of Paradhisi was formerly Villanova. It is backed by a long narrow ridge on the S; the hill of Paradhisi. With respect to this hill Pace described a small ancient settlement at Kouri (F1980) and rock-cut chamber tombs on the northern slopes of this hill at Patellakia, Asprovilo, and Kouri. These tomb clusters were all to the S of the main road and within the area of a triangle formed by Koufa (F2003), Kouri (F1980), and the church of Ayios Merkourios (F2001). If there was a center in Mycenaean times it may have been at Kastro (F1998) or at Palaiochori (F2002).
