NOTE
1. For more see C6694. Some confusion attends this site. Simpson and Lazenby [1973] 151 say 'The tomb was part of a cemetery (mainly plundered) centred on the lower slopes of the ridge of Plakoto on the north side of the road, where remains of some other chamber tombs can still be seen.' Georgiadis [2003] 39 cites Simpson and Lazenby when he describes a cemetery (he describes it as a chamber tomb on p. 71) at Pylona. His chamber tomb is ' ... in a narrow lowland area between two hills connecting the Lardos and Pylona plains ( ... Hope Simpson and Lazenby 1973: 151; ...). The tomb is now destroyed, but was located in the local football field ... (Karantzali pers. comm.), and was used from LH IIIA2 to LH IIIC.' Since Georgiadis' chamber tomb is S of the main road he is clearly referring to a different tomb from that of Simpson and Lazenby.
