3.    Sherds.   BCH [1960], 203    '...; by a cut near the upper plateau, called 'the Tzampakas', there appear numerous fragments of every period, from Subminoan to post-classic, and in every form. This plateau (...), 27 meters above sea level, is covered for 200 meters with a pile of stones, the remains of houses or ancient temples. Towards the center, which is slightly raised, I picked up beautiful Archaic and Geometric sherds and fragments of banded pithoi from the Late Minoan III.' (rhc translation)
