NOTES

1. Position and name taken from Panagiotakis [2003] 402. This may be the best candidate for Sjögren's 'Kounavi'. Panagiotakis includes the place name 'Sochora Zagourianous' associated with his Eltynea. The BCH [1957] 617 puts this extended building at 'Kenteri' or 'Zagouras'. The named area of Zagourianos (Topoguide) is just a few m N of the marker. The position of the Ellinika (Sjögren, [2003] 121) river is not known to me but an intermittent tributary of the Karteros flows just to the W of this position. A user contribution to Wikimapia gives the position of ancient Eltynea as 35.239167 N, 25.201389 E which is about 1810 m. to the NE.
