1. Peak Sanctuary. Nowicki [2007], 19 'All the characteristics of the cult site at Sougia fit very well into the pattern of Minoan peak sanctuaries - the location, topography of the site, types and distribution of the finds (including its 'pebbles feature'), and two-way visual links between the sanctuary and the settlement. There is, however, one significant difference - the finds date the site to the Archaic to Classical periods.'PERIOD (High Chronology)
