1. Pottery. Cline [1991], 3 'The seven fragmentary LH IIIA2-B vessels at Masat constitute the only substantial group of such objects in Central Anatolia.'2. Pottery. Hiller [1991], 208 'Imports of Mycenaean pottery are still extremely rare around the Black Sea; so far there is only one site from which it has been reported. This is Maşat where, together with Hittite vessels (and also sorne Cypriote imports), five Mycenaean flasks and one stirrup jar were found '

NOTES
1. Mee [1978] 132 says that the site is ' ..., to the south-west of Zile, ... '. The town of Zile is 20 km. to the northeast at F5220.
2. Mellink [1975] 208, elaborates: 'There were fragments of banded flasks, rather tall-necked, and of a small stirrup jar, also banded. The number of Mycenaean vessels from this building, ..., is by now at least half a dozen and the context is well attested.'
3. In Mellink [1976] 270 we read 'The suggestion that these Mycenaean oil flasks came via Black Sea ports (AJA 78 [1975] 105-6) is not quite invalidated by the finding of a Cypriote white slip bowl fragment in the lower level at Maşat.'
