GENERAL SITE TYPE  Cem

TYPE

1.    Tomb.   Georgiadis [2003], 39    'Two tombs have been reported in use during the LH IIIA2 period.'
2.    Tomb.   Dietz [1984], 65    'Here graves had been found and emptied by the peasants. The graves were in a bad state of preservation.'

PERIOD (High Chronology)

1. Late Helladic: (1700 BC - 1050 BC)
    a.    Dietz [1984]: 66, 'However, Mycenaean sherds were collected from the area.','Bones and Mycenaean sherds were found in the poorly preserved grave II.'

2. LH IIIA2: (1375 BC - 1320 BC)
    a.    Georgiadis [2003]: 39, 'Two tombs have been reported in use during the LH IIIA2 period.'

NOTES

1.  This location is approximate; I have assumed that this is the hill of Kalogrios. The church of the Panagia Galatusa (Dietz calls it a monastery) is at F5344. The map by Kinch (in Dietz [1984] and Georgiadis [2003] 288, Fig. 5.40) is of very limited utility.

2.  Dietz [1984] 66 says 'During the 1975 survey this site could not be identified.'
