    a.    Åström [1965]: 97, 'The tomb was perhaps in use already at the end of the Mycenaean III A:2 period.'

3. LH IIIB: (1320 BC - 1190 BC)

NOTES

1. In his Pausanias, IV, 177 Frazer says "At the northern foot of the hill, near the sea and immediately above the railway line, are some half-dozen ancient tombs, of no great size, hewn in the face of an overhanging rock. In some of them the quadrangular holes for the reception of the bodies are quite apparent." The railway line, though in ruins, still exists and can be seen in Google Earth. Papadopoulos says that he did not see these tombs [1979] 37. And although there are Mycenaean finds on the acropolis of Aigeira and the surrounding area there is no way to definitely associate these tombs with the LH. For the Frazer see this.

2. There are problems with using Åström [1965] 97-99 as a reference for this site. This is because he did not know (nor do I think that others knew) precisely where the finds he describes actually came from. There are other Aigeira-related sites in this area: C487 (Ancient Aegeira), and C681 (Psila Alonia) to name just two and his description may apply to either one or some other tomb-site for which there is no current knowledge. That said, I include the Åström anyway because I do not wish to lose sight of his valuable descriptions of a number of objects from this tomb.
