SITE SIZE

- Melas [1988]  p. 307,  Size: 4800 sq. m.  'The pottery spread is thin and covers an area of about 80 m. E-W by 60 m. N-S.'

NOTE

1. Melas [1988] 307 says: 'The Minoan site is situated some 500 metres NNE of the sandy beach of the excellent and well-protected bay of Pontamos. ... about 80 metres north of the chapel of Ayioi Anargiroi, ..., at the south-west corner of a large sloping and rocky field which is enclosed by rubble walls ... ' I have placed the site notionally assuming that F5361, the Church of the Holy Apostles, may have been mistaken by Melas for the church of the impecunious ones. This marker location appears to agree with what Melas tries to show on his sketch map (Melas [1988] 288, Fig. 6).
