NOTES
1. I am indebted to Hajo Becker for drawing my attention to this tholos. The text of the Greek Archaeological Service, which Dr. Becker transcribed for me, is as follows: "In 2002, a rescue excavation that was carried out in this area by the Greek Archaeological Service, uncovered a tholos tomb dating back to the Mycenaean era (1680-1060 B.C.). The tomb, 5,16 m in diameter and 2,8 m in saved height, had already been plundered during antiquity. However a few funeral offerings were saved from its interior. These offerings form a rich collection which consists of fragments of faience and carnelian, small gold sheets, an arrowhead, a seal made of rock crystal and painted clay vessels of the Mycenaean era. At a small distance, west of the tomb, can be seen another small tholos tomb. Its tholos has nowadays collapsed. This tomb was excavated in the late 1960s, but did not yield any findings. Based on its construction however, it is dated possibly around the Protogeometric period (1060-900 B.C.). Apparently, there is an extensive cemetery in the wider area, which could probably be correlated to the prehistoric residential settlement that was located in the area of Chandrinos." The 'small tholos tomb' mentioned is C326 in this Atlas. I do not know its exact location.
==> "At least three further groups of graves were discovered in the surrounding area in 1968. G.S. Korres suspected, without going into the problem of dating, that the tombs in Genitsaroi could be compared with the site (Anlage) in Ano Kremmydia/Kaminia. In the year 2002 employees of the Ephoria, in course of a rescue excavation, investigated one of these tholoi (= Tholos 2) east of Tholos 1 and reported the grave on the internet."
